About Us

The weird and wonderful customs of the Chinese can be intriguing, fun and philosophical. Having grown up in Australia but of Chinese heritage, our family of six noticed many people liked Asian art and craft and were interested in our traditions.

We decided to develop Lucky Red Box to bring together some of our favourite things as well as offering special packs for auspicious occasions such as weddings. The items in each pack have been carefully selected for their "lucky" qualities and beautifully presented in our custom-made red gift boxes.

The "lucky" meanings of the objects have been influenced by Buddhism, Feng Shui, folklore and the Chinese love of word games and double meanings. Most of them are thousands of years old and everyone from the lowliest peasant, the most humble priest or the grandest emperor have followed them. The objects are also valued almost as much for their colour and beauty as the luck they bring to people’s lives.

Each pack includes an explanation of the items and why they are auspicious. They also offer great value for money for anyone wanting to buy a number of items at a discount.
