This beautifully packaged set of four silk scrolls is a version of plum, orchid, bamboo and chrysanthenum based on the work of Wu Changshuo. He was regarded as a pioneer painter and a giant in the field of poetry, literature, Chinese painting and seal cutting. He has been acclaimed as one of the four masters in painting circles for nearly 100 years. Each scroll is made from 100 % silk and features a brocade print of one of the four flowers. This includes the chrysanthemum representing longevity and the joys of quiet retirement; the plum blossom, a symbol of beauty; the bamboo, that represents vigor and durability as well as the orchid, symbolising virtue, moral excellence and the refinement of the superior man, whose reputation precedes him like perfume. The quality and artistry are impeccable.
